Beach Portraits 41st and 42nd Avenue Isle of Palms, SC:

The beach around 41st–42nd Avenue on Isle of Palms is a fantastic location for portraits. Also wide dunes, is a short drive from the Board Walk in or the Sweetgrass Inn. Photo backgrounds include clean white sand, Sand Dunes, and ocean backdrops create a stunning natural landscape. Here's everything you need to know to plan your shoot:

Why its great for Portraits or weddings:

  •  Fewer crowds: Beachgoers thin out significantly after 40th Ave—giving you peaceful, uncluttered scenes.
  • Natural dunes & grasses: Soft dune lines and sea oats offer dreamy foregrounds that pair beautifully with the water.

  • Long shoreline views: The uninterrupted beach stretches north to Dewees Inlet, ideal for sunset reflections and horizon shots.

Parking and Beach Access:

  • Free  parking is available at spaces at 42nd avenue, it's a short walk to the beach before 10 and after 4.   There is also parking along Palm Blvd between 21st and 57th Avenues, including 41st–42nd. On the ocean side, park at least 4 ft off the pavement; on the inland side, use angled spaces.

  • Handicap and convenient access near 42nd Avenue includes accessible parking and a boardwalk leading directly onto the sand.

  • Avoid peak-front-beach fees: The Front Beach district (10th–14th Avenues) charges $10–$15 daily. At 41st–42nd, you're well outside that zone.

  •  Don't get a parking ticket its $100
