Based in Charleston, SC, I specialize in magazine-style portraiture for everyday women, boudoir, editorial glamour and beauty, fashion, model portfolios, maternity, senior portraits, personal branding, and professional headshots.

Every session combines creative styling, beautiful lighting, and personalized direction to create images that reflect your unique personality, vision, and style.

Sessions are available in my Isle of Palms home studio or on location throughout Charleston, Columbia, Camden, Aiken, and Beaufort, SC, as well as North and Central Florida, including Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Ocala, and Tampa.

HEADSHOT AND BRANDING 

Your headshot is often the first impression someone has of you, so it should look professional while still feeling like you. Whether we photograph in my studio or on location, I’ll guide you through everything from wardrobe to posing, so you can relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera. I offer everything from clean, classic headshots to more editorial and personality-driven branding sessions for business owners, physicians, attorneys, beauty and wellness professionals, actors, models, dancers, and more. Together, we’ll create images that feel natural, polished, and true to you and your brand.

COMPOSITE CARDS   

Composite cards are an essential marketing tool for models, actors, and dancers. Each card includes a professional headshot on the front along with your measurements, and three to four clean, versatile images on the back. These typically include a full-length portrait, a three-quarter portrait, and a waist-up image. If you choose four images, the fourth can showcase a unique look or specialty.

Whether you're just getting started or updating your portfolio, I offer everything from individual headshots to complete portfolio-building sessions. My goal is to create natural, magazine-style images that highlight your versatility and help you stand out.

I photograph at sunrise or just before sunset when the light is soft and refined. The beach gives a clean, minimal backdrop with natural movement, while downtown Charleston or St. Augustine adds depth, architecture, and a more elevated feel.

Studio & Outdoor Family + Senior +  Couples Portraits - Heather Johnson Photography

I specialize in outdoor and studio Family & High School Senior Portraits, with fall availability in Camden, Columbia, and Charleston, SC.  My availability is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday Evenings in Camden or Columbia; and Friday - Sunday in Charleston.  

Studio portraits are a beautiful option if you want a timeless look without worrying about unpredictable weather. If you love warm light and gorgeous sunsets, we can head outdoors and chase that beautiful golden-hour glow, those orange sky sunsets are perfect also for Horse and Dog Portraits as well.

And of course, your four-legged family members are always welcome! I love creating portraits that include the horses and dogs that are such an important part of your family.

My goal is to capture the love, laughter, little giggles, and genuine moments you never want to forget—with the people and animals you love most.
