I’m Heather, an equestrian photographer based in Charleston, South Carolina, I am also in Columbia & Camden several times a week. Black background equine portraits are some of my favorite images to create because they take away the distractions and put the focus completely on your horse—their expression, conformation, personality, and the connection you share.

What I love about this style is how versatile it can be. We can create a beautiful portrait of you and your horse together, a fine art portrait of your horse alone, clean conformation images, or professional photographs for a horse you are offering for sale.

And we don’t need a studio to create them. Black background portraits can often be photographed right at your barn using a dark barn aisle, doorway, or similar space. Your horse gets to stay in a familiar environment while we create that rich, studio-style look.

The finished portraits are classic and timeless, whether you need images for marketing your horse or want to create artwork for your home.
